Aarikka's Kurki sculpture is Kaija Aarikka's interpretation of the common crane, a long-necked bird of northern bogs. Originally created in the 1970s, Kurki has been reintroduced with an updated design and materials. The wooden bird is crafted from light-coloured maple and birch, with a long leg, curved neck and beak made from brass. The tail is composed of Aarikka's signature wooden balls. This wooden crane makes a memorable gift or decorative piece that brings joy for decades to come.
Each Kurki sculpture is handcrafted in Finland.
